About Yohji Yamamoto and Y-3
Considered one of the most influential designer of all times, Yamamoto frequently creating silhouettes far removed from current trends, confirming himself as an avant-garde spirit in his clothing.
Established in 1972, the Yohji Yamamoto brand was called the “black shock” and caused a great sensation: its anti-disciplinary attitude, which has not been passed on to the times, will revolutionize the mode industry. His collections are predominately made in black, a colour which Yamamoto has described as “modest and arrogant at the same time: lazy and easy, but mysterious”.
In 2002, he was appointed as a creative director for Y-3: Adidas T-3 bring Yamamoto’s sartorial aesthetic to the adidas brand by fusing high fashion with sportswear world, for a range of sneakers and apparel in special edition.
